Welcome to the Singing Patient's webpage!
Carla (The Singing Patient) is a musical medical comedian who performs keynote speeches and comedy concerts for patients, healthcare workers, caregivers, nurses, and physicians.
She speaks on the power of humor- and its proper use- in healing. Her songs touch on topics such as drug side effects, waiting rooms, peeing in a jug, and losing your butt- all based on her experiences as a patient.
Carla has recorded 5 CDs of humorous songs, including the CD "Sick Humor" (all funny medical songs). She is also the author of "How Can You *Not* Laugh at a Time Like This?," a collection of humorous essays about her adventures as a patient. To hire Carla for your event, e mail carla@thesingingpatient.com or call (908)616-3482.
You can also sign the email list to get the monthly newsletter, including updates on shows and other news. Stop by the "Guestbook" and say hi, or peruse the MP3 page to hear some "sick humor" songs.
Carla is also here:

Carla is the feature act; the opening act is the Loose Canons, a humorous 8-part vocal group. Should be a light, fun evening for all! The Minstrel is one of the longest-running coffeehouses in the country, with weekly concerts and a warm welcoming atmosphere. The ticket fee is kept low to include as many people as possible. I love playing for the Minstrel- it's a very special place. Wish every town could have a venue like this.
